Founded 2011, BRICKSNGEARS is providing an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where we build, play and learn with LEGO® technical parts and Education Solutions. Programs are designed to teach fundamentals and interest of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) with hands-on learning and experimenting.

We believe that children learn best through activities that engage their curiosity and creativity. Its principal, Hazel Lim obtained her Bachelor Degree of Electrical & Electronics Engineering with flying colors from University of Putra Malaysia in Year 2006, and started her teaching career with Children’s Technology Workshop in early Year 2008, and was General Manager of The X Factory Year 2014 – 2016. She has 10 years in education and still counting.

She believes the importance of soft skills is often undervalued, and there is far less training provided than hard skills. Besides technical skill and STEM knowledge, BRICKSNGEARS also looks into developing interpersonal skill such as: - Optimism & Responsibility - Empathy & Good Manner - Communication Skill & Sociability - Teamwork & Leadership - Logic Thinking & Problem Solving Skill. She is also taking Certificate of Education with Special Needs at DiKA College starting Year 2018.

CONSTRUCT

While constructing physical objects using LEGO bricks, children simultaneously "CONSTRUCT" knowledge in their minds. Doing this collaboratively with others, the children get to hine their comunication and cooperative skills at the same time.

CONTEMPLATE

Children are guided to reflect upon what they learned and share insights obtained during the CONSTRUCT phase. Facilitating questions are designed to help them gain awareness of the process and explore new ways to go about finding solutions.

CONTINUE

Every LEGO task ends with a new task that builds on what has been learned. This phase designed to keep the learner in a 'State of Flow'. The Flow is an optimal state of intrinsic motivation, where a person is fully immersed in what he or she is doing.
